A word about our listings

A guide for Customers

These days artists and bands tend to book their tours months in advance. In order to give you the best notice of up and coming shows we list events once they have been confirmed by the band or their management.

The downside of this is that dates can change due to unforeseen circumstances, sometimes at very short notice. We do our best to ensure that this site is kept as up to date as is possible, with updates happening at least once a week.

Therefore to avoid disappointment we recommend that you check these listing prior to setting out for your show especially if you are travelling any distance.

A guide for Artists and Promoters

The quickest way to get yourself included in our listings is to send an email to musicianlive2 at gmail.com once your gig is confirmed.

We also need you to do the following -

Put the name of the artist or band name along with the date of your show in the email subject line.

Attach a reasonable sized photograph. A 72dpi, jpeg, bigger than 200x200 pixels would be fine. Please don't email files over 1mb in size. If in doubt please drop us a line before sending. Let us have your web address so we can link to your site or Myspace page.

Send us some text. Whilst we are happy to tidy up spelling or grammar, we don't have the time to write or edit copy for you. Ideally we need a nice concise 'blurb' of between 75-100 words. Please don't send a three page biography, or else we are likely to bounce it back to you. If you have a selection of press quotes send what you have as we can usually easily compile something from them. There are plenty of examples of the sort of thing we need here on the site to help you out.

Please note - If you have played at The Musician before and we have text on file, we will continue to use use it for any subsequent listings unless you supply new copy.

If you spot any errors please send an email to derek at indiecentral.co.uk.

Doors 8:00pm
First set 8.30pm

Dizzy Lizzy are a fantastic live tribute act, dedicated to the legendary Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy. Established in 1994, their sound and set-list faithfully recreate that trademark Lizzy sound. Philomena Lynott once stated that Dizzy Lizzy are “the closest to playing my son’s music'”. The band do indeed have an amazing sound and resemblance to the classic 70s and 80s rock band, taking you back in time to relive that magical musical era with a superb blend of classic foot stomping rock anthems and emotive ballads.

One of the country's most dynamic tribute acts, they are the only act to have headlined both the ‘Vibe for Philo’ in Dublin & ‘Remember Phil & Gary’ event in Holland. They have also performed and toured with original Thin Lizzy guitarist Eric Bell whose reaction on first seeing the band was telling. “I could only watch three numbers owing to the emotions. The resemblance to Phil and the mannerisms and playing, it was spooky – it made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck…”

“Harper has so much musicianship in him that it just leaks out all over the place.”
— The Times

“If anything Nick Harper is the closest thing we've got to Lewis Carroll. His songs are the musical equivalent of Carroll's Looking Glass, peer through and you find a fantastical, magical world. Not always sugar sweet but forever different.” — Maverick

“Betjemen with a guitar”
— Guitarist Magazine

“One of the finest guitarists of his generation, his soaring vocal range and propensity for epic song place him somewhere between Rufus Wainright and Jeff Buckley. Thus far, however, putting his musical freedom before the demands of career, his talents have gone largely unrewarded. Miracles For Beginners, his most focused, warm and triumphant album to date, could right that wrong.” - Mojo Magazine

Doors 7:30pm
This extraordinary group opened for Sting in June 2022 in front of 15,000 people.
Steve Hackett (Genesis guitarist) has supported them since 2010 – even recording on their second album in 2015.
They won the "Best Overseas Band" award from the Classic Rock Society, and in 2024, they will embark on their tenth tour in the United Kingdom.
They travel throughout Europe with their theatrical rock show, dazzling audiences, transcending genres, and winning unanimous praise at every performance.
FRANCK CARDUCCI & THE FANTASTIC SQUAD do not just offer an ordinary concert, they deliver a true experience with music of course - authentic 70s rock that evokes Pink Floyd, Supertramp, and Led Zeppelin.
They oscillate from powerful and energetic sounds to atmospheric moods that lend themselves to daydreaming... We guarantee it is going to be a magical journey!
However, limiting it to just the sound would be extremely reductive because this project is also a full show, with costumes, staging, humour, narration, and whimsical instruments.
Your senses will not be given a second of rest.
You vibrate, you marvel, you have fun!
It's a unique, generous, festive, glittery, fun, and glamorous show that will conquer any audience.

“A very tough act to follow!” – [Sting]

Guided by the ethos of 'live music,' every track was captured in complete takes, accompanied by a world-class acoustic band in the serene Kashubian forest region of Poland. In a heartwarming celebration of her reconnection with independent artistry, Saskia invited her fans to take on the role of a label, empowering them to cast decisive votes on the songs that would grace the studio album set to unveil in early 2024. The album holds the promise of being her most transcendent, dynamic, and inspiring work to date.

feat: Jeremy McComb, Dan Smalley and Gary Quinn
Doors 7:00pm
Good things come to those who wait, but luck favours the bold. And for Jeremy McComb, the balance comes natural. A storyteller epitomizing “been there and done that,” McComb has explored nearly every facet of the entertainment industry, all on his own terms. From radio to tour managing, releasing five albums, growing an international fan base, hitting the Billboard charts and writing songs for projects selling over 6 Million copies … including a Grammy-nominated soundtrack (Blue
Collar Comedy Tour – One for the Road).

Dan Smalley may just now be making a name for himself, but he already sings with the voice of experience. And he’s got the bullet scars to prove it. The Alaska native who came of age in Shreveport, Louisiana, sings his confessional, soul-baring songs with deep conviction. Smalley expresses a fresh take on Country music that knows tradition, inspired by the greats of the genre and infused with the swampy sounds of his roots, the Gospel of hardwood church pews and the impassioned delivery of R&B.

An 8 time British Country Music Association Awards winner, Northern Irishman Gary Quinn has become one of UK Country music’s more established performers. Quinn has opened for the CMA Songwriters Series, toured with Phil Vassar and William Michael Morgan and shared the stage with acts such as Kristian Bush, Sarah Darling and hall of fame songwriter Bob DiPiero. An accomplished performer, Quinn is just as comfortable with a pen in his hand and has collaborated with Grand Ole Opry member and Grammy winner Steve Wariner as well as Brett James, Trent Tomlinson, Jenn Bostic and J.P Williams.

Quinn has numerous No.1 singles on the UK Country Charts as well as being championed by Ty Bentli (Ty Bentli Show, Apple Music) and Country Line Radio. .

‘Friends of Merlin’ The Original Mystical Rock Band.

A four piece Rock Band doing all original material with lots of energy.

Through a shared interest in yoga and eastern philosophy with a yearning for the uplifting, romantic music of "the good old days", Friends of Merlin, the original mystical rock band was formed.

We decided not to play covers and only write our own material it was a courageous decision, well we think so now, and very soon the new songs started to flow. The first couple of years we were finding our feet and trying out a wide range of material on our audiences and often being pleasantly surprised at the favourable reaction.

Delivering powerful, inspirational messages with energy is the band's mantra, which has proved highly popular at many gigs, events and festivals over the years.

The Roz Bruce Infusion are an exciting 3-piece from the Midlands.

The band have been together since summer 2012, and have played many gigs around the UK as well as festivals including KOZFEST, Onboard the Craft Festival, MAB Fest, Tannerfest, Progadelic Festival, Fuse Festival and more. Notable support slots include Gong, Arthur Brown, Space Ritual, Hawklords, Moon Duo and Psychedelic Warlords.

With regular comparisons to PJ Harvey and Hendrix, you can expect some guitar-heavy, intense and interesting sounds, brought to life by a blistering bassist and daring drummer.

Banter are Nina Zella, Simon Care, Tim Walker and Mark Jolley. Four fine musicians whose roots are firmly in the traditional English genre, but who enjoy stretching the limits – in what a lot of people refer to as ‘the quirky Banter twist”. Formed in 2015, due to a happy
accident, they immediately realised their common love for traditional English song and dance and began to mess around with it.

They gained popularity, or should it be notoriety, very quickly and were soon performing at many of the country’s largest festivals, including Glastonbury, Cambridge FF, Sidmouth FF and Towersey.

With the release of three albums, YES, DARE and THREE, between 2017 and 2021, they received more plaudits in the music press including a Valentines day session on Mark Radcliffe’s Radio 2 Folk Show.

Now firmly established as one of the UK’s finest bands they have recorded their fourth studio album “Heroes”. Their second album of traditional material ….. but with that “twist” Described as “the world’s smallest big band”, Banter go from strength to strength.
