A word about our listings

A guide for Customers

These days artists and bands tend to book their tours months in advance. In order to give you the best notice of up and coming shows we list events once they have been confirmed by the band or their management.

The downside of this is that dates can change due to unforeseen circumstances, sometimes at very short notice. We do our best to ensure that this site is kept as up to date as is possible, with updates happening at least once a week.

Therefore to avoid disappointment we recommend that you check these listing prior to setting out for your show especially if you are travelling any distance.

A guide for Artists and Promoters

The quickest way to get yourself included in our listings is to send an email to musicianlive2 at gmail.com once your gig is confirmed.

We also need you to do the following -

Put the name of the artist or band name along with the date of your show in the email subject line.

Attach a reasonable sized photograph. A 72dpi, jpeg, bigger than 200x200 pixels would be fine. Please don't email files over 1mb in size. If in doubt please drop us a line before sending. Let us have your web address so we can link to your site or Myspace page.

Send us some text. Whilst we are happy to tidy up spelling or grammar, we don't have the time to write or edit copy for you. Ideally we need a nice concise 'blurb' of between 75-100 words. Please don't send a three page biography, or else we are likely to bounce it back to you. If you have a selection of press quotes send what you have as we can usually easily compile something from them. There are plenty of examples of the sort of thing we need here on the site to help you out.

Please note - If you have played at The Musician before and we have text on file, we will continue to use use it for any subsequent listings unless you supply new copy.

If you spot any errors please send an email to derek at indiecentral.co.uk.

Doors 8:00pm
Widely regarded as the Uk’s most authentic and leading tribute to The Jam, The Jam’d are totally committed to giving an unforgettable, authentic performance with all the energy, passion and style of the Woking 3.

As full time touring professional musicians, and massive Jam fans themselves, the band don’t “try to be” or “pretend to be” The Jam, but rather put on a performance from the heart and soul, drawing on all their memories, experiences and love of what was the country’s biggest band in their day.

Gigging up and down the UK at outdoor festivals, scooter rallies and some of the UK’s top tribute venues & events! The show also includes the only replica of Rick Bucklers ‘Great White’ drum kit & features their own brass section!……You won’t be disappointed!

Every effort is placed into reproducing the sound, arrangements and energy of a Jam gig. Those who saw The Jam live will remember the electricity, aggression, passion, and even fashion on stage, something not always prevalent in today’s world, but to The Jam’d, it is a passion, a mission, and an honour to play for fans of “the best band in the f#@*ing world!”

An Afternoon of Otherworldly Enchantment
With Chris Conway, Autumn Dawn Leader, and Honest Dave.

Chris Conway has been singing his "songs of love & peace & outer space" for 30 years. He's played Cropredy Festival twice with Vikki Clayton, toured with The Monkees's Peter Tork,, opened for Bob Geldof, Jefferson Starship, Roy Wood, & Richie Havens, and released 14 studio albums of his songs. Funny one moment, and moving the next. Think Davis Crosby on a journey taking in Ireland, a jazz club, and outer space. And he doesn't want you to know that this concert is 2 days before his birthday!

Autumn Dawn Leader is a classically trained contralto vocalist, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a unique, dark, emotive and bewitching flavour, known for delicious chord changes, vocal sorcery and lyrical hammer blows. Autumn is a visceral experience.

“Honest Dave – a luscious blend of tender falsetto vocals, loop pedal layers and melodic saxophone, delivering songs that draw from emotive themes, folklore and the human condition.”
Nicola Palmer from Access All Areas
Enchanting ? Perhaps.
Engaging ? Definitely - as he draws you in to his “other” world.

Doors 7:30pm
Continuing the mystical thread and acid explorations which were a hallmark of The Fall's initial line-up, Martin Bramah has quietly crafted a trove of psychedelic visions unparalleled among musicians of his generation.

Despite never quite cracking mainstream public consciousness, Blue Orchids endure as a living treasures of head music for post-punks, with a series of deeply-magical recordings

Ably supported by the lovely Echolocation. Echolocation are “the provisional wing” of the Leicester music scene.

Band from Leicester, UK; employing spoken-word style social commentary backed by multi-textured, sometimes abrasive rock music.

James Maddock

plus Tom Brooksby
Doors 8:00pm
A rock & roll lifer, James Maddock has been carving his unique path since the 1980s, when the New York City based singer/songwriter kicked off his career with a raw, soulful voice; a storyteller's sense of narrative and the ability to blur the lines between folk, classic pop, and rock.

Originally from Leicester, he spent 10 years in London, ultimately fronting the Columbia Records band Wood, whose debut ‘Songs From Stamford Hill’ was featured prominently on “Dawson’s Creek”. The lead single ‘Stay You’ was Johnnie Walker’s record of the week on Radio 2 ‘drive time’ and can still be heard frequently on UK radio.

James moved from London to New York in 2003 where his 2009 album ‘Sunrise On Avenue C’ won a New York Music Award for Best Americana Album, while the follow-up Wake Up And Dream
ranked among the top albums of 2011 in WFUV's Listener Poll. 6 albums followed over the following 7 years, all garnering critical acclaim and extensive radio play.

His latest release in 2023 ‘Night Work’ is a beautiful collection of songs reminiscent of The Eagles and Credence Clearwater Revival - no imitation, simply landing effortlessly in the space between. Amongst the first reviews, Dan French from ‘Point Blank’ described "James’s remarkable talent for capturing the kaleidoscope of life in superbly crafted, heartfelt songs - ranging in mood from poignant heartbreak to upbeat joy, with the promise to nourish your spirit".

They have always grafted hard to fine tune their craft and toured extensively leading up to 2015 at which point they started work on their penultimate album – ‘Broken’. Released in July 2016 it received critical acclaim across the board. Fresh off the press, their long awaited new album 'Nine O'Clock Horses' is filled with crowd pleasers and tonight's Christmas party will see the first hometown airing of many of the tracks.

Describing Hell's Addiction as the "Bastard child of an illicit three-way between Skid Row, early Guns N' Roses and AC/DC", pretty much sums up their balls-out approach to Rock ‘n’ Roll.
