A word about our listings

A guide for Customers

These days artists and bands tend to book their tours months in advance. In order to give you the best notice of up and coming shows we list events once they have been confirmed by the band or their management.

The downside of this is that dates can change due to unforeseen circumstances, sometimes at very short notice. We do our best to ensure that this site is kept as up to date as is possible, with updates happening at least once a week.

Therefore to avoid disappointment we recommend that you check these listing prior to setting out for your show especially if you are travelling any distance.

A guide for Artists and Promoters

The quickest way to get yourself included in our listings is to send an email to musicianlive2 at gmail.com once your gig is confirmed.

We also need you to do the following -

Put the name of the artist or band name along with the date of your show in the email subject line.

Attach a reasonable sized photograph. A 72dpi, jpeg, bigger than 200x200 pixels would be fine. Please don't email files over 1mb in size. If in doubt please drop us a line before sending. Let us have your web address so we can link to your site or Myspace page.

Send us some text. Whilst we are happy to tidy up spelling or grammar, we don't have the time to write or edit copy for you. Ideally we need a nice concise 'blurb' of between 75-100 words. Please don't send a three page biography, or else we are likely to bounce it back to you. If you have a selection of press quotes send what you have as we can usually easily compile something from them. There are plenty of examples of the sort of thing we need here on the site to help you out.

Please note - If you have played at The Musician before and we have text on file, we will continue to use use it for any subsequent listings unless you supply new copy.

If you spot any errors please send an email to derek at indiecentral.co.uk.

'Spellbinding... Hannah and Ben were born to play and sing together’ FRoots

Huddled round a single microphone, singing intimate duets with just mountain dulcimer, dobro and guitar, Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage are an acoustic duo that sound classically timeless, yet their music is unique. Since emerging in 2016, the duo recorded two studio albums, Before the Sun (2016) and Awake (2018), produced by award winning producer David Travers-Smith in Toronto. Both albums have gathered praise for the craft and skill of their musical writing and arranging.

‘Awesome… a supremely divine album.’ Americana UK

The duo have toured the UK, North America and mainland Europe, enrapturing audiences at shows and on festival stages with the sparkling beauty of their acoustic style.

'Dreamy reveries, softly warm vocals, stirring guitar arrangements - Sanders & Savage wield an elusive sort of magic' MOJO

Tiny Leaves - virtual show
Due to the COVID-19 situation, Tiny Leaves is touring this year’s release from his home, partnering with different venues across the U.K.

“Stunning”
Lauren Laverne BBC6music

– A Good Land, An Excellent land airplay.
“Tiny Leaves’ remarkable music is a joy to listen to at home but seeing [him] live is a transcendent experience.

Not since hearing Sigur Ros for the first time has any music moved me so deeply” Five star review from Le Pub, Newport 2019 - Jenny White, What’s On – Western Mail

“Pike’s music is delicate and dramatic in equal measure” The Skinny, Manchester

Tiny Leaves presents the Alone, Not Alone virtual tour, livestreaming at dusk from his home studio in the Shropshire hills. Accompanied by Faith Brackenbury on viola, they’ll be performing music from his 2020 album Alone, not alone.
Tiny Leaves is the music of composer Joel Nathaniel Pike. His critically acclaimed instrumental music features beautiful string arrangements layered on top of piano and guitar-scapes with additional percussive elements. There is a delicate, cinematic beauty to his compositions.
His music has been featured by Nils Frahm on the iconic ‘Piano Day’ playlist and he has toured with acclaimed U.S. artist Julianna Barwick. As well as touring his own shows, he has also shared stages with artists such as Hannah Peel, Get The Blessing, Haiku Salut, Sam Amidon and A Winged Victory For The Sullen. His work has been broadcast by Lauren Laverne, Gideon Coe, Stuart Maconie, John Kelly and Chris Hawkins and featured on New York’s Newsounds. His music has been used in the Sony’s Experia ‘Run Your Way’ advert, ‘The Believer’s’ stage production by Frantic Assembly and was recently used in the South Korean documentary feature film “The Long Farewell”.
Tiny Leaves’ first EP was released in 2012. His debut album A Good Land, An Excellent Land, released in June 2013, received glowing reviews. Tracks from the album were featured by BBC6Music, with special attention as their ‘headphones moment’ on Lauren Laverne’s show and again as their MP-Free. Tiny Leaves’ thirteen track - second album A Certain Tide gained global airplay and was included on Nike’s ‘mindful miles’ running playlist. Notes On Belonging, Tiny Leaves’ third album, came out on Pegdoll records in 2017 and tracks from it have been aired by Gideon Coe and Stuart Maconie on BBC6music. His singles The Fullness Of Things and Respair, we’re the 2019 forerunners to his fourth album, receiving international airplay and playlisting before the full Alone, Not Alone album arrived in February 2020.

The Midnight Dogs
£8.00
Doors 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Hailing from Leicester, the Midnight Dogs have evolved into a formidable rock outfit, delivering their own brand of down and dirty rock and roll. With a nod to the retro sounds of the 70s, their lyrical stories are punctuated with catchy riffs and killer basslines, all wrapped up tightly with a rhythmic bow.

Their self-titled debut album was released in 2016 to rave reviews and resulted in special guest appearances with the likes of The Quireboys, Stacie Collins, Dan Baird, Spear of Destiny, The Dogs D’Amour and Tony Wright (Terrorvision).

Their rapidly growing popularity culminated in last year's sold out album launch show for the critically lauded 'Hotel Mango' release, and this weekend sees the band make their first return to the stage since 2020's enforced hiatus.
