A word about our listings

A guide for Customers

These days artists and bands tend to book their tours months in advance. In order to give you the best notice of up and coming shows we list events once they have been confirmed by the band or their management.

The downside of this is that dates can change due to unforeseen circumstances, sometimes at very short notice. We do our best to ensure that this site is kept as up to date as is possible, with updates happening at least once a week.

Therefore to avoid disappointment we recommend that you check these listing prior to setting out for your show especially if you are travelling any distance.

A guide for Artists and Promoters

The quickest way to get yourself included in our listings is to send an email to musicianlive2 at gmail.com once your gig is confirmed.

We also need you to do the following -

Put the name of the artist or band name along with the date of your show in the email subject line.

Attach a reasonable sized photograph. A 72dpi, jpeg, bigger than 200x200 pixels would be fine. Please don't email files over 1mb in size. If in doubt please drop us a line before sending. Let us have your web address so we can link to your site or Myspace page.

Send us some text. Whilst we are happy to tidy up spelling or grammar, we don't have the time to write or edit copy for you. Ideally we need a nice concise 'blurb' of between 75-100 words. Please don't send a three page biography, or else we are likely to bounce it back to you. If you have a selection of press quotes send what you have as we can usually easily compile something from them. There are plenty of examples of the sort of thing we need here on the site to help you out.

Please note - If you have played at The Musician before and we have text on file, we will continue to use use it for any subsequent listings unless you supply new copy.

If you spot any errors please send an email to derek at indiecentral.co.uk.

Doors 8:00pm
In the very heart of the notorious London rock and roll scene exists a whirlwind duo of female energy and ecstasy, please meet Never The Bride.

Their live performance is to be held in awe, purely in anticipation of the live operatic architecture they consistently unfurl upon their willing audiences. Having invaded venues ranging from The Royal Albert Hall (on multiple occasions), playing alongside Elton John at the Royal Albert Hall, Touring UK & Australia with The British Symphony Rock Symphony alongside, Roger Daltrey, Paul Rogers, Wembley Arena supporting The Who, Glastonbury Festival with Dame Shirley Bassey, Various with Eric Clapton, Ronnie Scotts with Robert Plant & Gary Moore,The Viper Room in LA and Euro-fests galore - to intimate spaces like The Green Note in Camden, Never The Bride have amazed and floored audiences and peer groups alike over their 25 years of service – these ladies are true rock and roll royalty.

Roger Daltrey broadcast “Nikki Lamborn has the best female rock voice since Janis Joplin and I know what I’m talking about, I knew Janis”.

Bob Harris from BBC Radio 2 referred to them as “one of the best live bands in Britain”; the ladies’ roll-call list is simply mind blowing – as are the stories the ladies readily share.

Capturing the electric and unquestionable live energy, Never The Bride’s presence has also been noted as one of LA’s famous Viper Room’s top favorite moments of the past 21 years. Sunset and Clark magazine

Bristol born Nikki Lamborn carries the dynamo vocal lead, while Glaswegian, Catherine ‘Been’ Feeney asserts the ‘sonic art’ with keys and vocals. Joined by a world class band their raw, unfettered talent is undeniable and is enough to justify the impression the girls have left on audiences throughout Never The Bride’s 25 years of global domination.

Nikki also holds a successful reputation as a vocal coach; described as “the best I have ever known” by Beverley Knight and has appeared on TV as a vocal coach on BBC’s “Just The Two Of Us” and Channel 4’s “Faking It” series as well as recently taking part as a judge in BBC1s new Saturday night Prime time entertainment show All together Now. (On Air 27th Jan 2018).

Nikki Lamborn was also approached in 2016 by Film Director Duncan Jones (David Bowies Son) Moon, Source Code, Warcraft, and asked if she would appear in his latest Film MUTE which goes out on Netflix on Friday 23rd February. She’s cast along side Alex Skarsgard, Paul Rudd, & Justin Theroux, Sam Rockwell https://www.neverthebride.com/nikki-news/

Never The Bride have released seven studio albums to date, with their latest outing, due to be released in April 2018.

Their legendary career merely represents their journey so far – and remains a testament for what dangerously is yet to come.

plus Auger and Rain Children
Doors 8:00pm - 11:30pm
This joint promotion between Doktor Dyper, McGothicfox, Lilith and Deadfall brings together a three band billing.Ariel Maniki And The Black Halos are a dark-alternative group from Costa Rica that captures and mixes the spirit of gothic rock, post punk and darkwave in their own style, genuine and versatile.
The acid but catchy guitars of Ariel, are joined by Janice's choral atmospherics and keyboards, in a dark-melodic and mystical rock perhaps due to the calls of their ethnic roots that are also filtered through the melodies. The rhythms are almost always danceable, ingeniously created with electronic drums and low-synthesizer sequences. The music and the voice recall the gothic rock of the "90’s second wave ".

Forged in the industrialised north of England, Auger’s hard-hitting and hyper-melodic approach to music is a true breakthrough in the goth/industrial scene. Auger’s sound takes influence from the likes of BlutEngel, Project Pitchfork and Gothminister mining the finest paydirt from all scenes of music, both new and old.

Rain Children are a wide lens, cinematic expression of Gothic music, both contemporary and nostalgic. They combine classic song writing with a tension and drama that is uniquely their own.

Ann Duggan
£7.00adv £8.00door
The pairing of powerhouse vocalist Annie Duggan with exceptional guitarist Rob Hines is a match made in … well, possibly Clarksdale Mississippi or Nashville Tennessee, or the backwoods of Alabama. Take your pick, but the ‘roots’ of their music undoubtedly originate from the diverse strands of blues, country, folk and jazz that combine in the melting pot of ‘Americana’.

To classify their music as one or other of these genres would be to do them a disservice, as their mastery of each and all is palpably plain to witness in their performance.

Annies voice is both powerful and expressive, encompassing the grit and growl of the blues, the more mellow tones of country music, and the subtlety of the jazz stylists. She employs all of these devices within her repertoire, including standard classics from those genres, and original compositions from the pen of erstwhile collaborator Colin Granger.
The empathy between Annie and guitarist Rob Hines is all encompassing, and his impressive technique allows him to employ both rhythmic subtlety and impressive interjectory extemporisations in his accompaniments. His solo excursions are truly amazing, the powerful propulsive drive of the country bluesman in tandem with the Scotty Moore ‘Sun Sound’ Elvis era rockabilly ‘licks’, and an occasional hint of Spanish flamenco, a truly amazing combination of influences finding a home in his one man guitar ‘orchestra’!

Lucy Bremridge will be opening the evening for Annie Duggan and Rob Hines performing her own songs and those of people who have influenced her. Already taking the music circuit by storm.

She will also be performing with two of the most seasoned performers bringing a fresh and different show to the Musician. Lucy is already gaining a name for herself on the music circuit writing her own material but also ably delivering classics that sit well will the original Country, Blues and Roots music that Annie and Rob are known for.
