A word about our listings

A guide for Customers

These days artists and bands tend to book their tours months in advance. In order to give you the best notice of up and coming shows we list events once they have been confirmed by the band or their management.

The downside of this is that dates can change due to unforeseen circumstances, sometimes at very short notice. We do our best to ensure that this site is kept as up to date as is possible, with updates happening at least once a week.

Therefore to avoid disappointment we recommend that you check these listing prior to setting out for your show especially if you are travelling any distance.

A guide for Artists and Promoters

The quickest way to get yourself included in our listings is to send an email to musicianlive2 at gmail.com once your gig is confirmed.

We also need you to do the following -

Put the name of the artist or band name along with the date of your show in the email subject line.

Attach a reasonable sized photograph. A 72dpi, jpeg, bigger than 200x200 pixels would be fine. Please don't email files over 1mb in size. If in doubt please drop us a line before sending. Let us have your web address so we can link to your site or Myspace page.

Send us some text. Whilst we are happy to tidy up spelling or grammar, we don't have the time to write or edit copy for you. Ideally we need a nice concise 'blurb' of between 75-100 words. Please don't send a three page biography, or else we are likely to bounce it back to you. If you have a selection of press quotes send what you have as we can usually easily compile something from them. There are plenty of examples of the sort of thing we need here on the site to help you out.

Please note - If you have played at The Musician before and we have text on file, we will continue to use use it for any subsequent listings unless you supply new copy.

If you spot any errors please send an email to derek at indiecentral.co.uk.

Dan Baird & Homemade Sin (Acoustic)
£13.00adv £15.00door (Limited capacity seated show)
Doors 8:00pm
You may remember Dan, he was the lead singer with 80's roots superstars The Georgia Satellites and the composer of 'Keep Your Hands To Yourself.' Every night in America, it is estimated that at least eight bands will be covering that number. Not bad for a song that celebrates it's thirtieth birthday next year.

Joining Dan is fellow ex-Satellite, drummer Mauro Magellan and founder member of Americana Hall Of Fame Lifetime Achievement winners Jason & The Scorchers, guitarist Warner E. Hodges. The line-up is completed by Micke Nilsson, formerly of Bonafide, on bass.

In 2014, Homemade Sin performed their first ever acoustic show at St. Pancras Old Church, London. The show was only ever intended to be a one off, but sold out in a matter of hours. The response from the fans has been such that the band have agreed to play a short acoustic tour. The phrase 'by popular demand' can be over-used, but in this instance, it's genuinely the case.

Inglorious
SHOW SOLD OUT
£12.00
plus Ali Clinton
Doors 8:00pm
The band members are all relatively unknown, but have been assembled from the best young musicians in the World.

Nathan James has been singing professionally for 10 years and has performed with artists such as Jeff Scott Soto, Uli Jon Roth, Steve Vai.

The release of the video for "Burn", a cover of the Deep Purple classic, was hailed as nothing short of a masterpiece. This was voted as a Classic Rock video of the week and garnered support from some of rock's glitterati with comments from Steve Lukather [Toto] “KILLER!!! Great playing from everyone!! and the vocals are insane! Love it!” Michael Sweet [Stryper] said “Great voice brother - I'm a fan too and you probably know that already”. Not bad for starters!

Over the last 6 months, the band has been writing, recording and rehearsing new material. The band had a few writing sessions with top producer/guitarist, John Mitchell. They tracked the demos live before Nathan left for his third US arena tour with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

During Nathan's time on tour in the US, he had the opportunity to write with some acclaimed musicians including Al Pitrelli (Megadeth, Alice Cooper), Angus Clark (TSO, Rock of Ages) and Joel Hoekstra (Night Ranger, Whitesnake).

The rest of Inglorious continued to send demos every week. Between them, all they were writing what has now become Inglorious’ debut album.

The time has come for Inglorious!

They have forged a formidable reputation as one of the hardest-working and most charismatic bands in British blues.

The Mustangs are led by the stunning voice and slashing guitar of livewire frontman Adam Norsworthy. The razor-sharp rhythm section of Jon Bartley (drums) and Ben McKeown (bass) is one of the tightest on the circuit. The line-up is completed by R’n’B veteran Derek Kingaby on vintage blues harp.

“They are so wild, they are so British, they are so exciting. They merge so many different and exciting forms of music that I love, from traditional English folk, to jazz, to prog, and the meld it together in a way that is not exclusive at all. It's embracing, it's colourful, it's funny, they're full of personalities - I love the whole kit and kaboodle of what they do.” Stuart Maconie, naming The Sovereign Self by Trembling Bells as his favourite record of 2015.

Trembling Bells make a very welcome return to The Musician. Trembling Bells are a psych folk phenomenon. The Glasgow based quintet have released five albums since 2008, all to unanimous critical acclaim. Their debut album "Carbeth" received album of the month nominations in Uncut, Observer and Rolling Stone magazines and the group have earned praise from artists as diverse as Paul Weller, Stewart Lee and Joe Boyd.

They have been the backing band of choice for some of the most influential and innovative musicians of the last 50 years. Some of these include Incredible String Band, Kaleidoscope and Bonnie "Prince" Billy, with whom the band recorded the 2012 collaborative album "The Marble Downs".

Since their inception Trembling Bells have toured extensively around UK, Europe, North and South America including shows in New York, Sao Paolo and SXSW. 2015 has been a particularly bumper year, with a slew of summer festivals under their belts in support of their fifth album, The Sovereign Self, including a stellar performance at Glastonbury which gained them "Album of the Week" by Alexis Petridis of The Guardian. The Sovereign Self shows the band at their most adventurous and dynamic, fusing dark psychedelic expansiveness with some joyous folk salutations.

PAWS are Phillip, Josh and Ryan.

In 2012 the band released the Misled Youth EP followed shortly by their debut full length album Cokefloat!, which garnered critical acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork, BBC and SPIN. That album, recorded by ex-Test Icicle, Rory Attwell on the boat/studio "Lightship95," introduced the band's explosive songwriting to the world, boiling down emotionally charged lyrics with the whiplash snap of punk. The band soon after toured with Japandroids, Bleached, We Are Scientists and The Cribs and their live show proves time and again their comfort on the stage, leading SPIN Magazine to place the band at number four on their "Top 50 Best Acts at SXSW Festival in 2013."

PAWS' second album, Youth Culture Forever marked a significant change in strength and mood for the band. Recorded live in a home studio in the woods in upstate New York, the album captured the Scottish trio in their element. Fiercely loud and brutally raw, YCF also demonstrated emotional and dynamic depths that added new shades and colors to the sound already developed on their debut album, resulting in a record of renewed confidence and even greater scope.

The tour that followed pushed the band to new heights as musicians, continuing to forge a strong, united bond together, forcing them to dig deeper than ever before to keep their heads above water, especially when the consequences of constant travel and unfortunate circumstances reared their ugly heads. That tour, in all its theft grief and toil, cemented the idea in the band's collective mind that in order to make something work, against all odds, you've gotta go big or go home.... which brings us to No Grace.

A wonderfully vibrant mix of Americana, folk and classic 70’s blue-collar rock’n’roll this Irish band deliver politically charged songs bristling with intent and conviction, whilst charming their way right into your heart.
Think Felice Brothers meets E-Street Band, with the social awareness of The Clash and you’ll have an idea of what to expect.
