A word about our listings

A guide for Customers

These days artists and bands tend to book their tours months in advance. In order to give you the best notice of up and coming shows we list events once they have been confirmed by the band or their management.

The downside of this is that dates can change due to unforeseen circumstances, sometimes at very short notice. We do our best to ensure that this site is kept as up to date as is possible, with updates happening at least once a week.

Therefore to avoid disappointment we recommend that you check these listing prior to setting out for your show especially if you are travelling any distance.

A guide for Artists and Promoters

The quickest way to get yourself included in our listings is to send an email to musicianlive2 at gmail.com once your gig is confirmed.

We also need you to do the following -

Put the name of the artist or band name along with the date of your show in the email subject line.

Attach a reasonable sized photograph. A 72dpi, jpeg, bigger than 200x200 pixels would be fine. Please don't email files over 1mb in size. If in doubt please drop us a line before sending. Let us have your web address so we can link to your site or Myspace page.

Send us some text. Whilst we are happy to tidy up spelling or grammar, we don't have the time to write or edit copy for you. Ideally we need a nice concise 'blurb' of between 75-100 words. Please don't send a three page biography, or else we are likely to bounce it back to you. If you have a selection of press quotes send what you have as we can usually easily compile something from them. There are plenty of examples of the sort of thing we need here on the site to help you out.

Please note - If you have played at The Musician before and we have text on file, we will continue to use use it for any subsequent listings unless you supply new copy.

If you spot any errors please send an email to derek at indiecentral.co.uk.

Cassidy Paris
£12.00adv £15.00door
Doors 8:00pm
Australian rocker Cassidy Paris has a very bright future ahead of her. Raised on classic hard rock and inspired by female rockers such as Lzzy Hale, Joan Jett, Pink, Pat Benatar & Avril Lavigne, the fiercely determined young woman is on a mission to inspire a new generation of younger fans to not only listen to Rock ‘n’ Roll, but pick up a guitar instead of a phone.

At just 21 years old, Cassidy has released two sold out eps – “Broken Hearted” & “Flirt”, and her first full length solo record "New Sensation" via Frontiers Music Srl.

At the age of 11, Cassidy met singer songwriter Paul Laine (ex Danger Danger, The Defiants), who developed a unique mentoring role. Paul took Cassidy under his wing to help develop her as an artist and songwriter, collaborating with her in songwriting and producing her music.

From early on, Cassidy has wanted to deliver a strong message through her music. In 2018, she released the song "Stand", a heartfelt song about ‘standing up for yourself’ as a young woman.

Cassidy has built up a strong connection with her growing worldwide fanbase that has already seen her perform in America, U.K. and Japan. Her talents have not gone unnoticed by one of the major guitar giants Fender, lending their support by joining forces with Cassidy to bring her on as an endorsee of Fender Squier Guitars.

In 2023, Cassidy became the youngest artist to ever sign a record deal with Frontiers Music SRL. She released her debut album "New Sensation" in December to rave reviews, with many including the debut in their Top 10 Albums Of The Year.
Cassidy launched the album by touring the UK for a second time to packed rooms at WinterStorm Scotland, Planet Rockstock in Wales and a bunch of club dates in England.

Misplaced Neighbourhood - a tribute to Marillion
£15.00adv £18.00door
Doors 7:30pm
On September 27th 2002, at 12:39pm, Jan Egil 'Octo' Overkil asked the musicians on the forums of VG, Norway's largest newspaper, if anyone was interested in forming a Marillion tribute band, and Misplaced Neighbourhood was swiftly born. Named in homage to Marillion's biggest-selling album, with a nod to the fact that bassist, Geir Amundsen, lives seven hours away from drummer Octo, and guitarist Orjan Risa Svensen and keyboard player Jan Magne Bjelland are similarly distant from each member of the rhythm section, the band became even more Misplaced with the addition of British vocalist, Rich Harding, initially as a dep, in 2005. Having been performing together now for two decades, their live reputation (check out the tracks from their 2009 DVD on their YouTube channel) is such that Marillion fanclub, The Web Scandinavia, have twice booked them to play pre- and post-shows for Marillion themselves in Oslo, and Marillion's own guitarist, Steve Rothery, has performed with the Neighbours on multiple occasions. Focusing mainly on the much-loved era when Marillion were fronted by larger-than-life Scotsman, Fish, and bound by their mutual affection for both Marillion and Monty Python, keep a sharp ear out for their regular but unpredictable Confuse-A-Crowd feature, which can range from an unexpected segue to playing the entirety of one song in the middle of a verse of another. This is your one and only opportunity to catch them in the UK, and they promise that there will be no repetition of the unfortunate events of 793 AD.
