A word about our listings

A guide for Customers

These days artists and bands tend to book their tours months in advance. In order to give you the best notice of up and coming shows we list events once they have been confirmed by the band or their management.

The downside of this is that dates can change due to unforeseen circumstances, sometimes at very short notice. We do our best to ensure that this site is kept as up to date as is possible, with updates happening at least once a week.

Therefore to avoid disappointment we recommend that you check these listing prior to setting out for your show especially if you are travelling any distance.

A guide for Artists and Promoters

The quickest way to get yourself included in our listings is to send an email to musicianlive2 at gmail.com once your gig is confirmed.

We also need you to do the following -

Put the name of the artist or band name along with the date of your show in the email subject line.

Attach a reasonable sized photograph. A 72dpi, jpeg, bigger than 200x200 pixels would be fine. Please don't email files over 1mb in size. If in doubt please drop us a line before sending. Let us have your web address so we can link to your site or Myspace page.

Send us some text. Whilst we are happy to tidy up spelling or grammar, we don't have the time to write or edit copy for you. Ideally we need a nice concise 'blurb' of between 75-100 words. Please don't send a three page biography, or else we are likely to bounce it back to you. If you have a selection of press quotes send what you have as we can usually easily compile something from them. There are plenty of examples of the sort of thing we need here on the site to help you out.

Please note - If you have played at The Musician before and we have text on file, we will continue to use use it for any subsequent listings unless you supply new copy.

If you spot any errors please send an email to derek at indiecentral.co.uk.

BilloBuckers are a 4-piece indie rock band hailing from Leicester. They are Billy (rhythm buitar/vocals), Callum (bass), George (drums) and Alistair (lead guitar). With three song releases already under their belt, their first two 'It'll Be Alright' and 'Where You're From' have been followed by their latest offering, the raucous 'Sweat and Alcopops'.

"The lyrics of 'Sweat and Alcopops' are relatable, capturing the essence of late nights and the feeling of youthful freedom. The band’s ability to blend infectious melodies with their cheeky charm adds an extra layer of appeal to the song." - Laury Verdoux

Joe D'Urso has released 17 records since 1991, the most recent being 2023's "Thurman". This new release features 9 original songs along with odes by Bob Seger and Trond Svendson. Joe has performed in 30 countries over the years and, along with his band Stone Caravan - an Americana, Jersey Shore, Rock & Roll band - they have created a worldwide grassroots network of fans. Joe's catalogue of music is released on his own label, SCR/Schoolhouse Records.

D'Urso remains true to an ideal inspired by the late Harry Chapin: that it is essential to help the less fortunate. He currently sits on the board of directors for The Light of Day Foundation, which raises awareness and funds for Parkinson's disease research. Joe sits on the board of WhyHunger and is a founding member of Artists Against Hunger and Poverty. In his home area of Rockland and Bergen counties (NY/NJ), Joe is a member of the Dan Sullivan Foundation, which raises money for college scholarships and folks who have experienced medical hardships.

Joe is also the founder/owner of the Rockland-Bergen Music Festival (RBMFestival.com) which takes place every June on the borders of New York and New Jersey and is a minority owner of the legendary C.B.G.B.

Featuring two of the original line-up - Tom Hill & Brian Gibson - joined by Steve Dawson on guitar and featuring the vocals of Terry Sless. The original Geordie line-up included: Vic Malcolm (lead guitar), Tom Hill (bass guitar), Brian Gibson (drums) and Brian Johnson (lead vocals). Their first single, "Don't Do That" broke into the Top 40 in December 1972. In March 1973, Geordie released their debut album, Hope You Like It on EMI. Doors 8:00pm
The Wang Dang Doodle is a love affair with rhythm n’ blues - pure and simple.
Led by Laurent Mouflier (harp & vocal), who has collaborated in the past with artists such as Ronnie Wood, Mick Taylor and The Pretty Things. Francesco Cuturi (Drums) has performed around Italy with a jazz big band as well as a rocking blues formation and finally Simon Pires who is a well known musician on the London music scene. The Wang Dang Doodle goes live using some of the finest blues musicians around with one purpose only, to bring back the rocking blues vibes of those Mississippi juke joints into the mainstream. Live performances always finish with the audience up on their feet, clapping and generally having a great time.
Representing London in 2016, The Wang Dang Doodle won the rising battle of the bands as organised by the Hard Rock Café. They have played many places since and are now focused on spreading the Wang Dang Doodle rocking blues vibes all throughout Europe.

Ginger Plays The Wildhearts
SHOW POSTPONED - NEW DATE TBC
Statement from Ginger's management:

"If you are reading this, there’s a good chance you already follow Ginger Wildheart and if so are probably aware of his ongoing battle with mental health.

In the last couple of weeks things have escalated to the point where Ginger and everyone who works with him have all begun wondering whether his previous diagnosis and treatment course is still the most appropriate for him. He’s reached a crisis point where he needs to find answers that have so far eluded him.

The help that he needs is not available through NHS channels, so his only option is to go in for private treatment, which he is about to do. To fund this, it will be necessary for him to auction off some of his possessions, details to follow.

He’ll also need to postpone the planned shows in July and August. There will be no cancellations and all the shows will be rescheduled for later in 2024, all tickets will remain valid for the new dates. We would ask that wherever possible, you continue to support him during this difficult time by holding onto your tickets, but refunds will be available if you are unable to make a new date."

Kossoff - The Band Plays On
£20.00adv £25.00door
Doors 7:30pm
Terry Slesser, one of the country’s finest rock and blues vocalists, performing in tribute to his bandmate and friend the late, great Paul Kossoff - one of the greatest rock blues guitarists of all time. Celebrating Paul Kossoff’s entire career, the show features songs from his early days in FREE (including rock classics ALL RIGHT NOW, WISHING WELL, FIRE AND WATER etc.) through to songs from BACK STREET CRAWLER, the band Kossoff formed alongside Terry Slesser. Terry Slesser remains both a star and a master craftsman. As Paul Kossoff’s close friend and vocalist of choice, he has every right to sing every song performed by this band. Terry has assembled a great team of musicians to willingly assist him in keeping alive the memory of Paul Kossoff.

The band also features: John ‘Rhino’ Edwards, bassist with the world-famous Status Quo, Judie Tzuke, Dexy’s and Peter Green. Drummer Clive Edwards, whose resumé includes UFO, Wild Horses, Uli Jon Roth, Pat Travers. Guitarist John Buckton is relatively unknown in comparison to his band mates, but was recently reviewed as "one of the very best guitarists in British rock blues today, with a style that’s tasteful and subtle, yet which wails with true blues aggression". SIMON KIRKE himself has already said that were FREE ever to reform, John would be his choice. This is no two-bit collection of raggle-taggle pub-rock wannabes playing cover versions. This an authentic supergroup, and to all intents and purposes a direct continuation of BACK STREET CRAWLER.

Vikki Clayton
£10.00adv £12.00door
plus Chris Conway
Doors 7:30pm
A Londoner by birth Vikki got caught up in music by the age of four. Astounding her business-background family and encouraged and mentored by her dotty school teacher. Her musical ability was fostered at the Trinity College of Music, and later on she achieved an honours degree in the Performing Arts.

She drifted into folk clubs and by the age of 13 was asking for a guitar. She began to sing English folk song, though still listening to rock and prog rock........

Vikki is somewhat of a global citizen these days, living in New Zealand, Cyprus and the UK.

Her voice is described as sweet and clear. Very english sounding. Her guitar playing is amazing and distinctive. She can make you laugh, cry, rejoice and celebrate within the first set.
