These days artists and bands tend to book their tours months in advance. In order to give you the best notice of up and coming shows we list events once they have been confirmed by the band or their management
The downside of this is that dates can change due to unforeseen circumstances, sometimes at very short notice.
We do our best to ensure that this site is kept as up to date as is possible, with updates happening at least once a week.
Therefore to avoid disappointment we recommend that you check these listing prior to setting out for your show especially if you are traveling any distance.
A guide for Artists and Promoters
The quickest way to get yourself included in our listings is to send an email to rideout at stayfree.co.uk once your gig is confirmed.
We also need you to do the following -
Put the name of the artist or band name along with the date of your show in the email subject line.
Attach a reasonable sized photograph. A 72dpi, jpeg, bigger than 200x200 pixels would be fine. Please don't email files over 1mb in size. If in doubt please drop us a line before sending. Let us have your web address so we can link to your site or Myspace page.
Send us some text. Whilst we are happy to tidy up spelling or grammar, we don't have the time to write or edit copy for you. Ideally we need a nice concise 'blurb' of between 75-100 words. Please don't send a three page biography, or else we are likely to bounce it back to you. If you have a selection of press quotes send what you have as we can usually easily compile something from them. There are plenty of examples of the sort of thing we need here on the site to help you out.
Please note - If you have played at The Musician before and we have text on file, we will continue to use use it for any subsequent listings unless you supply new copy.
If you spot any errors please send an email to derek at indiecentral.co.uk.

Bonafide was formed by singer/guitarist (and drummer for Jason & The Scorchers) Pontus Snibb and bassist Michael Nilsson in Malmö, southern Sweden, in 2006. Having served their apprenticeship supporting the likes of Deep Purple, Status Quo, Y & T, The L.A. Guns and the Quireboys, they bring their blues and R‘n’B based full throttle rock n’ roll to the UK including this welcome return to the Musician. You will seldom hear guitars this beefy or vocals with this much pure attitude and bravado – it’s no holds barred stuff. This is a show not to be missed!

His subtle and fabulously expressive playing is grounded firmly in the ‘50s and ‘60s heyday of the Chicago and Gulf Coast styles of playing. With a tremendously experienced band backing him, Simon never fails to deliver anything less than a first-rate evenings entertainment and never lets good taste and soulfulness stifle a rockin’ night out. |

The Razors are an exciting, three-piece band playing a broad range of blues based material with soul, punk, rock and jazz influences. Frontman Howard Smith combines greasy slide guitar, fiery blues and manic energy to create an irresistible blues tour de force and a breath of musical fresh air. The Razors have been described as tight as hell and loose as the proverbial goose and are always an exciting proposition live.

Leicester's own Hell’s Addiction formed just over a year ago through a love and passion for classic no bullshit rock. With its members having come together from local bands De Sade, Dirty Cocktail and Forgotten Sun, and a stageshow honed by supporting bands such as Heaven’s Basement, Voodoo Six, Fury UK, The Heavy Metal Kids and Zodiac Mindwarp, these guys really know how to rock! Hell’s Addiction play with a raw intense energy that very few bands possess and live onstage is where the band really hit you hard.

First hailed as a ‘young guitar prodigy’, Danny Bryant began playing guitar aged 15, turning professional just three years later, and in the last decade has paid his dues clocking up endless miles of travelling and approximately two thousand shows in many countries around the world. After a decade of hard toil he now gets the recognition he deserves, being acknowledged as one of the cream of the crop of this generation of blues artists, ably backed by his rhythm section of his father Ken on bass and Trevor Barr on drums.
In a career that has seen Danny perform alongside such names as Joe Cocker, Carlos Santana, Greg Allman, Buddy Guy, Peter Green, and former Rolling Stone Mick Taylor to mention just a few, Danny and his band have steadily carved a huge and loyal fan base around the world.

After reconvening with long time musical cohort Mark 'Squeezebox' Wally, 2012 has already proven a bumper year for Mick - completing a fantastic tour of Canada with old buddies The Lowest of the Low, and recording a new album in Portland, Oregon. His ever evolving talents as a writer and performer and raconteur continue to define a career as intriguing as it is enduring. His select shows with Squeezebox Wally are possibly the most ideal for showcasing his extensive back catalogue.
"Mick Thomas has some secret magic to his writing... he surely can write great songs that make you say 'Why didn't I think of that?' but of course we never do. Mick is the real deal, no doubt about that!" l

www.myspace.com/tremblingbells
Trembling Bells are Alex Neilson's song-based group who seek to reanimate the psychic landscapes of Great Britain and relocate them to some vague, mythic land where basic human crises are encountered and conquered.
The band are just putting the finishing touches to their fourth album (provisionally called 'The Marble Downs') for Honest Jon's Records, which is a collaboration with Will 'Bonnie Prince Billy' Oldham.
"There’s folk, there’s rock, there’s psychedelia, there’s beauty, there’s noise, there’s sex, there’s gloom, there’s humour, there’s fun. It’s often over-the-top but sometimes perfectly restrained. It’s totally, gloriously, f***ing nuts"

www.brucecockburn.com
Bruce Cockburn has always been a restless spirit. Over the course of four decades, the celebrated Canadian artist has traveled to the corners of the earth out of humanitarian concerns - often to trouble spots experiencing events that have led to some of his most memorable songs. Going up against chaos, even if it involves grave risks, can be necessary to get closer to the truth.
Small Source of Comfort, Cockburn’s 31st album, is his latest adventurous collection of songs of romance, protest and spiritual discovery. The album, primarily acoustic yet rhythmically savvy, is rich in Cockburn’s characteristic blend of folk, blues, jazz and rock. As usual, many of the new compositions come from his travels and spending time in places like San Francisco and Brooklyn to the Canadian Forces base in Kandahar, Afghanistan, jotting down his typically detailed observations about the human experience.

Blueswamp Southern germinated in 2005 when Bob Dayfield started having his boy along to play bass for some acoustic blues. On a couple of occasions Al Shotter joined in on the harmonica, and not long after, a full band was forming. Now also consisting of Nick Hough on extra guitars, Paul Williams on percussion, and drum help from Gordy Taylor and the enigmatic Jimbo, Blueswamp Southern have an electric and an acoustic act that has garnered all sorts of people liking them, even people who don't like things.
