Welcome to the first annual City
Blues And Acoustic Festival, which
takes place across Leicester throughout April. Whatever your
tastes we're certain you'll find something to enjoy in a
programme that includes a diverse array of acoustic and blues
talent from both sides of the Atlantic (and Sweden!).
Big
names from the States include Crescent City legend, Dr
John,
W.C. Handy award winners Big Bill Morganfield (Muddy Water's
son) and Paul Rishell & Anne Raines,
Country Joe & The
Fish frontman Country Joe McDonald, virtuoso guitarist
Mike Dowling and renowned Woodstock singer-songwriter Geoff
Muldaur.
The
U.K. is well represented by some of the top performers
on the current scene; The Ian Siegal Band,
Kevin Thorpe and The
Stevie Nimmo |

veterans Colin
Blunstone & Rod Argent of the Zombies and acclaimed
local performers such as David Wyatt, Dawson
Smith & The Dissenters,
Tony Alles Bluesville and Russ Merryfield. New
sounds abound with Sweden’s startlingly original Deltahead,
Nashville based nu-blues pitbulls The
Black Diamond Heavies, Detroit one man
band Jawbone, Ian
Wills And The Willing’s new
millennium beat poetry and the guerrilla psych, punk,
garage blues of rising local stars The Dirty Backbeats.
So
